Poor mission children and families need your support…
Dear Friend in Christ,
It has been a difficult year in our missions, especially those in Zambia. Years of low rainfall and drought have devastated the crops, leading to a shortfall of 700,000 tons of the staple crop of corn.
With lower rainfall, rivers and wells have run dry. Hunger and malnutrition affect children and mothers the worst – the effects can plainly be seen by our missionaries in their parishes and remote outposts.
The average income in Zambia is only about $2 per day… and in our remote mission territories, it’s often less than one dollar. Your gift of just a few dollars can make a life-or-death difference in the lives of children and families.
As soon as your gift is received, I will send you a beautiful silver-tone rosary that I have personally blessed. In the Bible, silver was known as a symbol of truth and wisdom, and I hope that my gift will help us be joined in prayer for your needs.
The centerpiece of the rosary depicts the Madonna and Child, demonstrating Her ever-lasting maternal love for us and reflecting our shared devotion to Our Heavenly Mother. I have also arranged for six Masses to be celebrated in your honor to bring hope and healing into your life, too.
With the Hunger Season coming soon to Zambia, poor mission families need IMMEDIATE help. Please send a gift today!
Father Art Flores, OMI
P.S. Please send me your intentions as soon as possible to be remembered at the six Masses beginning July 1. As soon as I receive your needs for prayer and support to assist the Missionary Oblates and the mission poor, I will forward the blessed rosary so we can be joined in prayer. Many thanks for your generosity and your commitment to our missionary work!
