Daily Prayer & Reading for 10/11
October 11, 2017
Lord, I don’t always make the decisions You would want me to make. In times of anger I have used harsh words to tear others down. I have gossiped and talked negatively about my peers. I have turned away from You in times I probably needed You the most. Be with me during these times. Give me gentle reminders that You are always near. Amen.
Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished,
one of his disciples said to him,
“Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.”
He said to them, “When you pray, say:
Father, hallowed be your name,
your Kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread
and forgive us our sins
for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us,
and do not subject us to the final test.”
