The World Prays for Japan, updated
OBLATE NEWS UPDATE: (03.14.11) Fr. Bill Maher, O.M.I. reports from Tokushima City “So far the devastation appears to have had minimal impact on the Missionary Oblates in Japan, although the full extent of damage is yet to be determined. Tom (his brother, Fr. Thomas Maher, O.M.I.) and I are well south of this and we have no direct effects here, but this is a major disaster and will affect this country for a long time. Please keep us in your prayers. We will do our best to keep Oblate friends and supporters informed as more news becomes available. Please remember the Oblates and the people of Japan in your prayers.”
At Oblate Missions our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan.
We pray that Faith, today more than ever, brings spiritual and physical strength to the families of the dead and the wounded, to the missing, and to those rescuers desperately looking for survivors.
We join the world in prayer as social media has become for many the only way to communicate and bring hope to those in need.
This is a Twitter feed from prayers around the world. I you would like to be included use the hashtags #prayforjapan and #omijapan:
