A Message from New Stewards

Thank You for the opportunity to serve this wonderful ministry. As a Special Needs community, we seek to foster greater unity in faith, hope, and love. God is Love. HE commanded we love each other and to spread the Gospel.  By supporting one another and sharing our God-given gifts, we fulfill His will for each of us. Our ministry is a work in progress. We need your prayers and full participation as we move forward in building the Kingdom of God. We need every member to take an active role in determining the path and growth of our group. Mary and Joseph said “YES” in faith. We must too. Don’t let disability be a barrier. It should make us stronger to preserver and be victorious. With HIM, we can do all things. God calls us each day to move outside of comfort-zone. How will we answer HIM?

New Stewards are: President – Richard Rios, Vice President – Sandra Cancino, Recording Secy – Susan Krantz, Treasurer – Betty Hilbig, Corresponding Secy – Lois Rios.

BEATITUDES FOR FRIENDS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Blessed are you who take time to listen to difficult speech,

for you help me know that I can be understood.

Blessed are you who stand beside me,

as I do new things and try new ventures.

Blessed are you who asked for my help,

for my greatest need is to be needed.

Blessed are you who smile,

and encourage me to try once more.

Blessed are you who respect me,

and love me as I am, just as I am;

and not like you wish I were.

MINISTRY Q & A

At our last meeting, some members wanted clarification as to our policies, procedures, and operations. Because of limited time during our meetings, we will provide answers here. We appreciate the opportunity to respond.

Q: Do we have a quorum to conduct business?

A: Our ministry is comprised of member with disabilities and non-disabled. Health issues generally dictate ability to be present at every meeting. We certainty understand that attendance will fluctuate per month. As a Charter Chapter, we have important business that must be conducted at each meeting. We must move forward as best we can?

Q: What is my monetary donation being used for?

A: We appreciate all financial donations. Like any organization, we have ministry costs such as: postage, document printing, envelopes, Birthday-Sympathy-Thank You cards. If we have a Guest Speaker or Visiting Priest, a stipend must be offered. We will make every effort to get pre-approval from our members before expense is paid.

Q: Can I donate cash for the purchase of refreshments/meal?

A: This would require separate account tracking. We encourage to pool your funds with other members who want to do this and purchase the main dish for future meetings. If you would like to be a Food Coordinator, please step forward.

Q: I was given a Membership Directory in 2008. Can I have an updated list?

A: Due to privacy issues, we will not distribute list to all. The Board of Officers uses data on limited basis.

UPCOMING EVENTS

On May 16 from 9:00am4:00, we will have our annual Spirit Day Retreat.

Make plans to attend this Blessed Events. It will be a day of Prayer, Reflection and Reconciliation. Come and grow in Faith and Love. Jesus is calling us. Let us not disappoint HIM!

We will need helpers for this event. Consider volunteering for Registration Table, Food serving, or assisting others in any manner you can.

Please be part of planning meeting in April and take ownership. Thank You in advance and GOD BLESS YOU.
