Prayer for Women Desiring Pregnancy and Motherhood

Loving Father,
You who know the experience of having a Son,
You heard the prayers of childless couples:
of Abraham and Sarah of who was born Isaac,
of Elkanah and Hannah, of who was born Samson,
of Zechariah and Elizabeth, of who was born John the Baptist.
Look lovingly and generously upon these women ( or name)
Here asking for the same favor
and grace of motherhood.

O Mother Mary,
You who became pregnant
through a special intervention of the Holy Spirit.
Intercede for these women so desirous of also
becoming pregnant and sharing in the gift of motherhood and family.
Through your intercession, and that of St. Gerard Majella, patron of pregnant women,
bring healing graces and health to their bodies and spirits,
that with their husbands’ joy each and all may know,
by your divine power, the privilege of giving birth.
