Daily Prayer & Reading for December 11
December 11, 2018
As we run from store to store trying to find gifts for our loved ones and friends, Lord, help us to remember to also support families who cannot afford such luxuries. I pray that children who live in poverty will have their Christmas wish lists fulfilled. In a world where peer pressure plagues children, I pray that the generosity of others will help them feel safe and accepted. Amen.
Jesus said to his disciples:
“What is your opinion?
If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray,
will he not leave the ninety-nine in the hills
and go in search of the stray?
And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it
than over the ninety-nine that did not stray.
In just the same way, it is not the will of your heavenly Father
that one of these little ones be lost.”
