Christmas is one of my favorite times of year. Sharing cherished traditions with family, surrounded by beautiful music and twinkling lights, makes this Holy Season truly magical. But what I love most is the feeling joy and anticipation we share with all of our Christian brothers and sisters worldwide, as we join together in prayer and celebration to honor the birth of Our Savior Jesus.
As we enter this joyous Christmas season and prepare for Our Lord’s birth, I want to thank you for your faithful support of our global missionary efforts in another challenging year. To demonstrate my personal gratitude, I have prepared two very special Christmas gifts just for you:
My first gift is one of prayer: I have arranged for a Christmas Novena of Masses in Bethlehem to be celebrated in your honor, beginning on Christmas Day and continuing for nine consecutive days. Please send me your personal petitions and names of your loved ones to be remembered at the altar of Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto and Tepeyac de San Antonio, the spiritual center of Oblate Missions.
As we prepare our hearts for the birth of Our Lord, I hope you will share some of your Christmas blessings with a gift of whatever amount you can afford to help our Missionary Oblates who will be spending Christmas with the mission poor around the world. You can make a special gift to the Missionary Oblates — and provide the names of your loved ones and prayer petitions for the Christmas Novena.
My second gift is our exquisite Winter rosary, which I would be thrilled to send as a sign of our gratitude for your gift of $25 or more — and as a reminder to spend this joyful season in reverent prayer.
Keep your rosary as our gift to you, or make it a Christmas gift to a special loved one!
Your support at Christmas will provide much-needed assistance to the children and families in our missions, many of whom are still grappling with the long-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
While most children in America wish for new toys or clothes to celebrate the holidays, our mission children have very basic needs: nutritious food, clean water, medicines to protect them against disease.
Your gift can provide their most critical Christmas wishes!
Through your generous gifts, you stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our missionaries and bring hope to children, families and the elderly at Christmas and throughout the year.
It doesn’t take much to protect the life of a young girl or boy. A generous gift of any amount can provide life-sustaining sustenance and hope for the future. Truly, there is no such thing as a “small” donation for those who lack everything!
Not everyone can be together physically during this coming Christmas, but we can be joined together in prayer as we celebrate this holiday season filled with peace, happiness and hope for the future.
Be sure to send me the names of your loved ones to be remembered during our Christmas celebrations.
A quick announcement before I leave you: Soon, your mailings will have a new look — with new names, logos and addresses. We’re consolidating our fundraising activities into one program in order to be even better stewards of your generosity in supporting the ministries of the Missionary Oblates.
Be assured that you will still be able to partner with the Oblates like before, but maybe in a slightly different way.
When you awake on Christmas morning to celebrate the birth of Our Savior, please know that Missionary Oblates around the world will be joining you in joyous prayer to wish you an abundance of blessings for you and your family!
Thank you for your support.
You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your gift shortly.
