Dia de los Muertos – Oblate Missions

Dia de los Muertos

Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, a joyous celebration of life and death that spans October 31 to November 2. This rich holiday tradition consists of parties, parades, colorful decorations and costumes, great food and an abundance of sweets.

Today is a wonderful opportunity to gather with close friends and family to celebrate and honor our dearly departed. Be sure to set aside time to speak about the many good times you shared with your loved ones who have gone to eternal rest with Our Lord.

A Prayer for Dia de los Muertos

Good and Gracious God,
Today we thank You for the promise of eternal life,
knowing that after our time here on earth we may be joined with
You and our departed loved ones in Heaven.
Today we ask You to watch over our friends
and family who have gone before us.
Bestow your mercy upon them.
Grant us comfort as we grieve their loss here on earth.
We thank You for the time we spent with them
and the many happy memories we share.
In Your most Holy Name, we pray. Amen.

Please also consider making a gift today that will help our missionaries serving the poor and most abandoned of the world.
