Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Philippians 4:6
It is hard to believe that it has been over a year since the global COVID-19 pandemic was declared.
For so many of us, this time has been marked by profound loss — the loss of family and loved ones taken by the virus, the loss of livelihoods, and the loss of a sense of community, driven by the isolation we all experience.
These losses are especially true among the poorest of the poor — those living in communities served by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate.
Thanks to dedicated members of our Mazenodian-Oblate Family, mission children and families have continued to receive desperately needed lifesaving supplies — food, water, clothing, medical aid, shelter, access to education. The pandemic has truly shown the interconnections we all need to survive.
Your gifts have demonstrated the true meaning of Christianity. To give of oneself in the face of your own hardship and suffering is the greatest display of Our Lord’s love.
As we continue to battle the pandemic around the world, we turn to God to ask for guidance and peace of mind. Prayer is our strongest form of communication with Our Lord and is stronger than any pandemic.
Our work wouldn’t be possible without your dedicated support. Please continue our progress by sending a gift of whatever you can to help provide lifesaving programs to the poor and most abandoned of the world. To thank you for your commitment, I have two gifts of prayer for you…
As a beloved member of our Mazenodian-Oblate Family, I hope you will join us in prayer in the upcoming weeks during two special series of Healing Masses.
Starting on July 11 and continuing for three days, I have arranged for six Masses to be celebrated for your petitions. The first series of three Masses will begin at Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto and Tepeyac de San Antonio, where your personal needs for prayer will be lifted up to heaven from the altar.
On that same date, a second series of three Masses will be offered by our Missionaries in Lusaka, Zambia, at the Mission Parish of Mary Immaculate — the very first parish established in Zambia by the Southern Province of the Missionary Oblates. During both series of Masses, your petitions will be
remembered as we are joined in prayer with our missions around the world.
Please join us to bring health and healing into your life and the lives of your loved ones in these unpredictable times. Simply send me your needs for prayer and healing, along with those of your family members, friends, and neighbors.
Please hurry. Send your petitions right away so that your Mazenodian-Oblate Family can pray for your friends, family and loved ones to find relief during this time of uncertainty.
Thank you for your continued support. Know that you and your loved ones are in my daily thoughts and prayers.
In Jesus Christ and Mary Immaculate,
Father David P. Uribe, OMI
Oblate Chaplain Director
