Mother’s Day Novena – Oblate Missions

Mother’s Day Novena

I’m sure many of you, like me, have watched your mothers go from strong, supportive and protecting, to now being the ones who need our strength and support. As I watch my own mother go through the struggles that come with advanced age, I happily extend to her the same guidance and comfort she has given me her entire life.

That strength of a mother – putting the needs and best interest of her child before her own. To honor that strength, we will be holding a Novena of Masses beginning on Mother’s Day, May 9. This is the first of two very special gifts that I have personally arranged to make this Mother’s Day perhaps your most memorable ever!

Although many of our Mazenodian-Oblate Family have lost their mothers who now rest eternally with Our Heavenly Mother, we think of them daily, and appreciate the sacrifices they made for us and their never-ending love that continues to protect us.

Please send me the names of your mother, grandmothers, aunts, daughters and all other women who have shared their love with you by clicking on the button below.  I will ensure they are remembered during each of the nine days of the Mother’s Day Novena so the blessings of Our Lord and Our Heavenly Mother will be showered upon them.

Just as Our Heavenly Mother and our earthly mothers watched over and protected us, the Missionary Oblates care for and nurture the poorest of the poor around the world. Today, I hope you will honor the love your mother has shown you with a Mass offering . Your gift will help our Missionaries continue to bring help, healing and hope to poor mission mothers. In return, I have a special Mother’s Day gift for you…

As soon as I receive your reply, I will send you a beautiful bracelet set that was exclusively designed for Mother’s Day 2021. Our elegant “stacking” bracelets feature three beaded bracelets, perfect for layering. Each is made of beautiful metallic gold-tone beads and exquisite pink accents — the universal color of maternal love.

One of the bracelets features a unique charm depicting Mary holding the baby Jesus. The back of the charm is engraved with the word “Fiat,” Latin for “let it be done.” When the Archangel Gabriel appeared to Mary and revealed that God had chosen her to be the mother of Our Lord, Mary gave God her complete and unconditional “yes.” She told the angel Gabriel, “Let it be done to me” –– a declaration known as Mary’s fiat.

Mary’s fiat is one of the most important events in our Church’s history, and the ultimate example of a mother’s love and sacrifice for her child. This unique bracelet set would make a fitting gift for your mother, a loved one or to personally wear in honor of your Mother.

You are a beloved member of our Mazenodian-Oblate Family, and I pray that you will accept our gifts in thanks and recognition of your assistance for the Missionary Oblates who carry the Good News of Jesus Christ to the mission poor around the world.

With your generous support and prayers, Oblates will continue to soothe the pain of so many distressed mothers who need food for their hungry children, lifesaving medicine for sick toddlers and to bring dignity to elderly mothers and grandmothers.

Mother’s Day is only a few weeks away — please take a moment right now to send me the names of your mother and all other loved ones to be remembered in this very special Mother’s Day event.

As soon I hear from you, I will send you the Mother’s Day bracelets.
May God bless you, your mother and your family and grant you bountiful blessings and peace on Mother’s Day and all days of the year!

In Jesus Christ and Mary Immaculate,
Father David P. Uribe, OMI
