But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy.
spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. ~Psalm 5:11
The coronavirus pandemic has changed our lives in unprecedented ways, encouraging us to seek comfort and healing during these uncertain times.
Fortunately, God has provided angels for this exact reason – to pray for us, guide us and protect us here on earth. There is no more powerful angel than St. Michael the Archangel, leader of all angels in God’s army in Heaven.
St. Michael is the patron saint of grocers, doctors and first responders, invoked to protect us against the evils of Satan as a champion for Christianity. I cannot think of a more appropriate figure to aid us in our prayers and bring protection during the global health crisis.
Your support for our missionary efforts brings the God News of Our Savior to the poorest communities around the world. I hope you will extend your healing love to the women, children and families in our missions with a generous contribution of whatever amount you can afford. in return, I have two gifts for you.
If you or a loved one are in need of healing or comfort, please join the Missionary Oblates in two gifts of prayer where your personal needs will be lifted to heaven to ask for St. Michael’s intercession.
- Beginning on September 29, the Feast Day of St. Michael, a special Novena of Masses will be celebrated in the holy city of Rome in the Chapel at the Oblate General House to honor and remember you and your loved ones.
- On that same day, a Novena of Healing Masses will also begin to honor St. Michael the Archangel at Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto in San Antonio, the spiritual center of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate.
Please send me your needs for healing and those of your loved ones. I will ensure that they are presented at the altar during both of these special events that lift your needs for hope and healing to heaven.
Our Missionary Oblates work every day to bring hope and healing to those suffering from the wounds of hunger, disease, neglect and advanced age…and they need your assistance to help make miracles happen in the lives of the mission poor. With your continued generous support, the Oblates deliver the many virtues God bestows upon us to children, mothers and families around the world.
I hope that my gifts will serve as a constant reminder of Our Lord’s amazing love and virtues He brings to your life. The closing verse of Psalm 5 relates His promise to us.
Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous;
You surround them with your favor as with a shield.
In Christ and Mary Immaculate.
